Installed between the mains supply and an AC induction motor, it ramps voltage gradually to reduce mechanical shock and limit inrush current during startup. That controlled acceleration suits conveyors, pumps, and fans that benefit from smoother starts and less disturbance on shared feeder circuits.
The power section is designed for a nominal 480 VAC three-phase supply at 50 to 60 Hz and carries a continuous motor current of 180 A.
