This product is installed between the line supply and an induction motor to limit inrush current and mechanical stress during ramp-up, making it a common element in conveyor, pump, and fan sections of automated plants. It uses three-phase power control and includes protective functions, so standard motor control centers need less external wiring. This soft-start method helps reduce shock loading on couplings, belts, and driven equipment during startup. It is well suited to installations where a controlled ramp is preferred over direct-on-line starting.

For electrical interface, the unit accepts a supply of 3 x 480 VAC, and it integrates an internal bypass contactor that is shunt rated to reduce heat once full speed is reached. A built-in circuit breaker is present, and its interrupting capacity is matched to 300 A so line faults can be cleared without an added feeder breaker.
