Product Description:
The 132H2245 is a solid-state motor starter produced by Danfoss for the MCD Soft Starters series. It is installed between the mains supply and an AC induction motor to limit inrush current and raise voltage gradually during startup. This approach reduces mechanical shock on couplings, belts, and driven equipment in three-phase industrial systems.
A control circuit rated at 24 V AC/DC energizes the internal logic and gate drivers. The power path is designed for a continuous 215 A line current, and it accepts mains feeds from 380 to 690 V AC. At 480 V, the starter supports motors up to 125 hp. An enclosure classification of IP00 means the unit must be mounted inside a protected switchboard.
The inline AC-53a rating allows 260 A for ten starts per hour, while an inside-delta connection can handle up to 390 A under the same duty. Mechanical fastening is secured to 66 Nm, and the busbar arrangement is housed in Frame Size 2. Non-bypassed topology keeps the thyristors in circuit during run mode, so current limiting remains available after startup. External bypass is not suitable, and thermal dissipation must be considered during continuous service.
