The 132H2239 is a solid-state motor soft starter produced by Danfoss as part of the MCD Soft Starters series. Designed for fixed-speed induction motors used on pumps, conveyors, and compressors, it modulates the applied voltage during ramp-up and ramp-down to reduce inrush current and mechanical stress. By providing smooth acceleration and deceleration, the starter helps protect driven equipment and upstream switchgear in industrial automation lines that require controlled motor engagement. This operating method can also reduce shock on couplings, belts, and other connected machine elements during startup.

This model uses frame size 2, which gives it compact physical dimensions for MCC installations. Its power section handles up to 215 A of line current, matching medium-horsepower motors used on utility feeders. Surge protection accommodates an impulse withstand voltage of 6 kV, and the open chassis carries an ingress rating of IP00, so the unit must be mounted in a suitable enclosure. The main output contactor is wired as normally open. Because it is supplied without an internal bypass contactor, external bypass equipment is required when reduced thermal loss during run duty is needed.

The analog output can drive measurement devices or PLC inputs with load resistance up to 600 ohms. Main circuit insulation to earth is verified for 690 VAC, and a status relay rated at 10 A at 250 VAC resistive is provided for remote signaling. The starter is intended for three-phase power networks, coordinating SCR firing across all phases to keep current balanced during soft-start and coast-stop operation. Balanced phase control helps the motor accelerate more evenly and reduces abrupt torque changes at startup. This makes the unit suitable for motor control panels that require controlled starting behavior, relay status signaling, and insulation performance suited to industrial power systems.
