The 132H2232 soft starter is produced by Danfoss as part of its MCD Soft Starters series. This solid-state device is installed between the line supply and an induction motor to manage voltage ramp-up and ramp-down, limiting mechanical stress and current peaks during motor starting in industrial automation systems. It achieves this by progressively increasing the motor terminal voltage, which allows smoother starts and reduces electrical disturbance on the supply network. By reducing abrupt torque changes at startup and stop, it can lessen wear on couplings, shafts, and driven equipment.
The starter operates with a control circuit requirement of 24 VAC/VDC, so its logic can be powered from common low-voltage supplies in standard control panels.
