Designed for panel-mounted integration ahead of induction motors, the unit controls inrush current and moderates mechanical stress during ramp-up and ramp-down cycles. By inserting phase-controlled power electronics between the line supply and the motor, the device supports smoother acceleration, reduced torque transients, and lower line disturbances in pumping, conveying, and fan applications. This controlled starting method helps connected equipment come up to speed more gradually during normal startup and shutdown sequences.

For continuous duty, the starter carries a nominal current rating of 160 A, allowing it to switch motors that draw this line current without thermal derating. It is intended for distribution systems that deliver three-phase power, and all three line conductors are modulated simultaneously to keep phase balance. The enclosure is classified as IP00, so it must be installed inside a protected cabinet where accidental contact or conductive dust cannot reach live parts. Because the enclosure is open, the surrounding cabinet must provide the physical protection required for energized components. The model is supplied without an internal bypass contactor, so an external contactor or run relay must be added if heat loss during steady-state operation needs to be minimized. This arrangement can help reduce temperature rise when the motor remains at full speed for extended periods.
