Product Description:
The VACONX4C50030C is a low-voltage AC drive manufactured by Danfoss for the Low Voltage VACON X Drives series. As a motor controller, it converts power from a fixed 575 VAC three-phase supply into a variable-frequency output, allowing pumps, conveyors, and fans to be regulated without mechanical throttling. Integrated current limiting, bus monitoring, and overload handling support controlled motor operation in demanding industrial automation applications. The drive adjusts output voltage and frequency according to the required motor speed and process demand.
The drive connects to a 575 VAC three-phase supply, and in heavy-duty mode it can deliver 1.5 kW of motor output at a continuous current of 2.7 A. Its short-term overload capacity reaches 150% for 60 seconds, providing additional torque during acceleration or process upsets. The brake chopper engages at 970 VDC to dissipate regenerated energy before the internal DC bus reaches the 1017 VDC overvoltage trip level. Operation stops if the bus voltage falls below the 497 VDC undervoltage limit, protecting the power semiconductors from insufficient bias voltage. Thermal algorithms also track normal-duty operation separately, during which the unit manages 3.9 A and permits a 120% overload for 60 seconds without exceeding its temperature limits.
For standard applications, the drive supplies 2.2 kW of motor output. Its IP66 enclosure protects internal components against dust and high-pressure water jets. The chassis weighs 6.35 kg and measures 306 mm high, 221 mm wide, and 166 mm deep, allowing wall mounting within compact machine frames. The drive can operate at installation altitudes up to 1000 m without altitude-related current derating. Above this elevation, current derating may be necessary to compensate for the reduced cooling capacity of thinner air.
