Product Description:
The VACONX4C40150C is an AC variable-speed drive manufactured by Danfoss for the Low Voltage VACON X Drives series. Within automated plants, it converts fixed-frequency mains power into regulated output that matches the torque and speed requirements of three-phase induction motors, removing the need for mechanical throttling devices. Its sealed, washdown-ready housing allows the controller to be mounted directly on conveyors, mixers, or packaging stations, shortening motor cable runs and supporting decentralized installation.
The drive accepts three-phase power and supplies a continuous motor line current of 14 A, enabling steady operation of loads up to 7.5 kW. A momentary overload reserve of 150% for 60 seconds supports high-inertia starts without causing nuisance trips. Internal components are cooled through a forced-air channel that directs ventilation across the heat sink. The cast aluminum chassis meets the stringent UL Type 4X / IP66 rating, so high-pressure washdowns and airborne dust do not compromise the internal electronics. Two solid-state digital outputs and two relay contacts provide status signals and interlocks for upstream controllers.
The controller has a T2 frame and measures 273 mm wide, 201 mm deep, and 442 mm high, allowing straightforward wall or machine mounting. Command flexibility is provided through 5 digital inputs, eliminating the need for separate I/O blocks on compact machinery. During operation, acoustic emissions are limited to 80 dBA, while the unit’s mass of 13.38 kg supports manageable handling during installation. Reliable operation is supported at elevations up to 1,000 m above sea level, covering most industrial sites. The enclosure profile helps maintain installation clearances while leaving space for standard NEMA motor disconnects on the same backplate.
