Product Description:
The VACONX4C20250C is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the Low Voltage VACON X Drives series. This stand-alone inverter converts fixed-frequency, three-phase mains power into a controlled output that regulates induction motor speed in conveyors, mixers, and other plant equipment. By modulating voltage and frequency, it allows motor torque to be matched to process demand and reduces mechanical wear in industrial automation. The drive can support applications that require controlled acceleration, deceleration, and continuous speed adjustment. Its enclosed design also allows the inverter to be installed close to compatible machinery rather than inside a separate control cabinet.
During operation, the drive supplies a heavy-duty output current of 54 A and a normal-duty output current of 68 A. These two limits support either constant-torque or variable-torque loading without requiring a larger enclosure. Corresponding power capacities reach 25 HP for ventilated applications and 20 HP when the load is continuous and demanding. To protect the internal electronics, the DC bus initiates an overvoltage trip at 406 Vdc and disables the output if the link falls to an undervoltage level of 199 Vdc. These shutdown thresholds help protect insulated-gate devices from electrical damage and reduce unexpected resets caused by brownouts. The control board accepts a 10 Vdc analog speed reference and 24 Vdc digital commands, allowing direct integration with typical PLC analog outputs and sink-source I/O cards.
The polyester-coated housing carries an IP66 rating, allowing washdown installation near pumps or grinders without a separate cabinet. An internal forced-air fan expels heat through the T3 frame while keeping the sound level at 80 dBA and helping control component temperatures. Brake chopper circuitry clamps regenerated energy when the DC link reaches 388 Vdc, protecting the drive during motor deceleration. Nine sequencer steps store local speed profiles for stand-alone operating routines. The enclosure measures 286 × 513 × 314 mm and has a mass of 22.68 kg, permitting wall mounting with standard hardware. The coated exterior also helps shield the enclosure from moisture and airborne contaminants in demanding industrial locations.
