The 080Z0023 is an extension module manufactured by Danfoss for the Electronic Climate Controllers series. It plugs into a host climate controller to expand process capacity when multiple stepper-motor valves must be driven in parallel. By adding dedicated sensor and actuator interfaces, the module helps automation systems maintain precise temperature or pressure in refrigeration racks, chillers, and air-handling units. Mounted inside the main panel and linked through the system bus, it operates as a dependent expansion device and gives the supervisory processor immediate access to the additional field points.

The module provides 8 analog inputs, allowing additional temperature, pressure, or humidity transmitters to be read with direct scaling inside the controller logic. For actuation, it supplies 4 stepper outputs, each capable of issuing bidirectional pulse trains that position a valve rotor without external drivers. A regulated backplane powers the electronics from a nominal 24 V DC supply, and the circuit draws only 13 VA, so the module places a modest demand on the cabinet power supply. The housing has an IP10 protection rating and is intended for installation inside a closed electrical enclosure. The installed module has a net mass of 0.49 kg, allowing it to be mounted on a suitable DIN rail without additional structural reinforcement. Its shipping mass, including packaging, is 0.599 kg, which is relevant when planning storage and transportation. The design contains no batteries and has no front display, reducing the number of components that require attention during routine service.
