Product Description:
The 080Z0020 is an electronic climate controller manufactured by Danfoss for the Electronic Climate Controllers series. It is intended to monitor and adjust thermal conditions in industrial cabinets, HVAC branches, and process stations, helping sensors, drives, and auxiliary devices operate within appropriate temperature limits. By combining voltage-based inputs with digital timing functions, the unit issues stable control signals that keep heaters, fans, or dampers aligned with the setpoint requested by the automation system. This functionality allows the controller to coordinate climate-related equipment without requiring separate timing and signal-processing modules.
The controller is powered from a nominal 24 V AC/DC supply, and the internal regulator accepts a line variation of ±20% so that the unit remains functional when plant power fluctuates. For applications in which external transducers share the same rail, the electronics can tolerate up to 30 V. Overall power consumption is limited to 2 VA, allowing the module to share compact 24-volt buses with PLC I/O racks and other low-power control equipment. The controller provides 8 optically isolated pulse inputs for receiving occupancy pulses, flow meter signals, or valve-end feedback. Optical isolation separates the input signals from the controller circuitry, reducing the effects of ground loops and electrical interference in industrial installations.
The controller supports a maximum ambient relative humidity of 95% RH under noncondensing conditions, making it suitable for humid plant rooms and enclosed equipment areas. The enclosure carries an IP10 rating, providing basic protection against contact with large solid objects when the device is installed inside a closed panel. The rating does not provide protection against water, so the surrounding cabinet must prevent moisture from reaching the controller. Continuous operation is supported across a temperature range of -20 °C to 55 °C, allowing startup in unheated areas and reliable performance near warm process equipment. The control outputs have a maximum rise and fall transition time of 5 ms, providing sharply formed signal edges for connected actuators. This response helps prevent timing uncertainty when the outputs interface with downstream relay logic or other compatible control circuits.
