The 080Z0018 is a multifunction climate controller manufactured by Danfoss in the Electronic Climate Controllers series. Installed inside an HVAC control panel, it energizes field devices such as valve actuators and fan contactors while coordinating temperature and airflow setpoints received from a supervisory system. Relay channels and manual override selectors allow the unit to distribute binary outputs so ventilation or heating equipment can be sequenced reliably in industrial and commercial automation environments.
The controller is powered by a control circuit at 24 V AC/DC, and a supply tolerance of ±20% allows it to accommodate typical transformer drift without shutting down. The internal electronics draw only 5 VA, which limits heat buildup inside the PC/ABS housing. The controller has 8 relay outputs, and each channel uses an SPDT contact arrangement so normally open or normally closed logic can be implemented for each load. An individual override switch for each relay provides hand, off, and automatic positions. These switches allow connected equipment to be forced on or off when automatic commands need to be bypassed. The contacts can switch voltages ranging from a minimum of 24 V to a maximum of 230 V, allowing the module to handle control signals or line-level power. Its IP10 enclosure provides limited protection against large solid objects and is intended for installation inside a closed control cabinet.
Each channel has an AC-1 make-and-break capacity of 4 A for resistive loads and an AC-15 capacity of 3 A for electromagnetic coils, allowing wiring and connected loads to be selected appropriately. Reliable operation is maintained from -20 °C to 55 °C, while housing ventilation allows internally generated heat to escape. The controller also supports operation at up to 95% RH under noncondensing conditions, helping prevent moisture accumulation around the electronics and override controls. The accessible front switches permit direct control of individual outputs without changing commands from the supervisory system.
