The 080Z0017 is an electronic climate controller produced by Danfoss in the Electronic Climate Controllers series. Designed for centralized HVAC and refrigeration panels, the module combines temperature, pressure, and relay handling so a PLC or supervisory system can coordinate compressors, fans, or dampers without discrete signal converters. By consolidating sensing, scaling, and switching in one housing, it simplifies wiring and shortens response paths in industrial automation where climate variables must stay within prescribed limits.
The controller provides 8 analog inputs that accept thermistor, voltage, or 4–20 mA signals, and up to five of those channels can be assigned to pressure transmitters. For pressure monitoring, the analog-to-digital chain offers a resolution of 1 mV and a measurement accuracy of ±10 mV, so slight suction or discharge pressure changes are visible to the supervisory logic. Temperature channels use a factory-calibrated Pt 1000 sensor rated at 1,000 ohms at 0 °C, delivering data with 0.1 °C granularity and an overall accuracy of ±0.5 °C. Eight panel-mounted override switches allow channel states to be forced for setup or diagnostic purposes without removing field wiring.
Output regulation is handled by eight relay channels that share a common supply rail. Each channel has an SPDT contact set and delivers up to 4 A for AC-1 resistive loads or 3 A for AC-15 inductive loads. Coil and contact separation allows the relays to control loads from 24 V through 230 V AC, so evaporator fans, solenoid valves, or alarm beacons can be driven directly. The cabinet footprint remains compact because the controller draws only 5 VA during operation. The housing has an ingress protection rating of IP10, which protects against contact with the back of a hand but does not provide moisture protection. Eight dedicated relay override switches provide manual output control, while eight status LEDs support fault tracing during plant operation.
