Product Description:
The 080Z0013 electronic climate controller is manufactured by Danfoss within the Electronic Climate Controllers series. It is a low-voltage logic module that monitors field switches in refrigerated cases, cold rooms, and HVAC zones. The module transmits the status of connected devices to a host control system, which can use the information to manage compressors, fans, heaters, alarms, or other equipment. By concentrating discrete input connections in one panel-mounted package, it reduces wiring between monitored equipment and the higher-level building management network. Its compact format also allows multiple switching signals to be collected at a central point inside a control cabinet.
The input stage is powered by a control transformer that supplies 24 V AC/DC ±20%, while the internal electronics consume only 2 VA. The device provides 8 digital inputs that accept on-and-off voltage signals from connected field circuits. Each channel registers an on state when its terminal voltage rises above 80 V AC and returns to an off state when the voltage falls below 24 V AC. This hysteresis range helps prevent unstable switching when electrical noise or brief voltage fluctuations occur near the transition points. Galvanic isolation separates the input channels from the low-voltage electronics, reducing the risk of unwanted electrical coupling between monitored circuits and the controller supply.
The housing is molded from PC/ABS and has an IP10 ingress protection rating. This rating protects against contact by large objects, so the device must be installed inside a closed cabinet to prevent access to energized terminals. The circuitry can operate at ambient temperatures from -20 °C to 55 °C. It also tolerates relative humidity levels as high as 95% RH when condensation is not present. Field wiring may carry mains-level voltage, and each channel accepts up to 230 V AC for direct monitoring of compatible line-powered circuits. Tool-free spring clips on the back plate allow the device to be attached to a 35 mm DIN rail or secured against a suitable wall panel. This mounting arrangement supports installation in compact service boxes while keeping the input terminals accessible for wiring and inspection.
