Product Description:
The 080Z0011 electronic climate controller is produced by Danfoss as part of the Electronic Climate Controllers series. The unit manages temperature-based processes by energizing external relays and actuators, providing a compact board-level module for HVAC zones, refrigeration racks, and environmental chambers. Within an automation panel, it accepts a low-voltage supply and uses its internal logic to switch multiple outputs. This arrangement allows the controller to coordinate heating and cooling elements according to programmed temperature thresholds and operating sequences.
The enclosure has an IP10 rating, which provides protection against large solid objects while leaving ventilation openings unobstructed for natural cooling. It does not provide protection against water, so the controller must be installed in a suitable panel or protected location. The controller body is molded from PC/ABS, a flame-retardant plastic blend that withstands normal panel vibration without cracking. Its operating temperature range extends from -20 °C to 55 °C, supporting use in cold rooms and warm equipment cabinets. The controller can also operate in humidity levels as high as 95% RH, allowing installation in demanding climate-control environments when condensation is prevented.
The controller has eight Form C outputs for direct actuation of contactors or solenoid valves. Each channel is protected by one fuse per output, which isolates output faults and helps limit damage to neighboring circuits. The relays share a common supply, while the controller draws only 5 VA from the control source, making it suitable for energy-limited panels supplied by control transformers. Its individually addressable stages can sequence defrost heaters, fans, compressors, and other connected equipment in the required order. The enclosure supports mounting on a panel wall or DIN rail, providing flexibility for different automation-panel layouts. This mounting arrangement also allows the controller to be positioned near its associated relays and field wiring, reducing unnecessary cable routing inside the enclosure.
