The 080Z0008 is a low-voltage input module manufactured by Danfoss as part of the Electronic Climate Controllers series. Positioned between sensors in a plant room and the supervisory PLC, the device records simple on/off states and passes them to the host climate controller, allowing automated dampers, compressors, or pumps to react to contact closures, pressure switches, or float sensors. This arrangement extends the I/O capacity of an HVAC or refrigeration system while keeping the signal wiring and supply requirements modest.
It provides 8 digital inputs that are interpreted as voltage-type signals. Because the signal type is on/off voltage and the input category is low voltage, field devices can be wired directly without intermediate relays. An input is recognized as active when the terminal reaches an input-on threshold above 10 V, and it returns to an inactive state when the voltage falls below the off-threshold of 2 V. All channels share a common 24 V AC/DC supply, and the internal electronics draw only 2 VA, so the module can operate on the same power rail as other controller boards. Screw terminals are provided for field wiring. The housing is molded from PC/ABS to withstand mechanical shock encountered in control panels.
The module is suited to typical plant-room conditions. Continuous operation is allowed from -20 °C up to 55 °C, with storage possible from -40 °C to 70 °C when the cabinet is de-energized. The electronics tolerate ambient moisture levels as high as 95% RH without condensation, and the enclosure carries an IP10 ingress rating that protects internal tracks from large debris once the cover is installed. Power rails may vary with site loading, and the module compensates through a ±20% supply tolerance so line sag or minor surges do not disturb input-state detection.
