The Danfoss AC Drive 178F0438 is an industrial-grade motor control solution designed for dependable performance in industrial automation. It works on the 200–240 V range. The unit relies on an air-cooling system for continuous thermal regulation to maintain safe operating temperatures.
The 178F0438 AC drive weighs approximately 27 kg in its IP20 enclosure. It comes with a standard hardware configuration and does not feature conformal coating on internal circuit boards. An integrated Local Control Panel (LCP) is included to enable local parameter setup and system monitoring. This model supports TP78 LON fieldbus communication to make it ideal for US-based installations. It does not support optional application cards. Additionally, there is no built-in RFI filter. The 178F0438 AC drive delivers strong electrical performance under both normal overload and high overload modes. In normal overload mode, it supplies a rated output current of 61.2 A with a peak current of 67.3 A for up to 60 seconds. The corresponding power output is 25.4 kVA to support motors up to approximately 15 kW (20 HP).
