The Danfoss 178B4558 Drive supports three phase 380 – 480 V input with efficient motor control. It is designed with an IP20 enclosure and provides flexibility with precision in automation. The drive is suitable for applications requiring stable speed and torque performance.
The 178B4558 drive operates with an input phase to ground voltage of 300 V for insulation safety. It draws approximately 14.9 A input current. The device delivers an output current near 16.0 A. Its apparent power rating is about 11.1 kVA. It can produce output frequencies from 0 to 1000 Hz that allows wide motor speed range. The maximum ambient operating temperature is + 45 °C (113 °F). The control modes supported by this model include open loop (scalar) control for simple speed applications and closed loop vector control for more accurate regulation. The Automatic Motor Tuning (AMT) measures stator resistance without rotating the shaft that enhances matching and tuning. The programmable ramp times provide smooth acceleration and deceleration. The ramp up and quick stop ramp down times are both configurable from 0.02 to 3600 seconds. These features help protect mechanical systems and reduce load stress. The drive includes motor overload alarms and thermistor based (PTC) thermal protection.
