The 178B4544 Frequency Converter from Danfoss is designed for efficient and accurate motor speed regulation. It provides stable performance in industrial environments with reliable output characteristics. The unit offers broad frequency control, compact housing and robust protection.
The 178B4544 frequency converter operates with a three phase input supply of 380 – 480 V at 50/60 Hz and supports a maximum input current of 8.1 A. It is designed for a maximum phase to ground voltage of 300 V. The rated output capacity of the converter reaches 6.3 kVA while the output current is 9.1 A. The device delivers an output frequency range from 0 to 1000 Hz that enables versatile use across applications. The output voltage is adjustable from 0 % to 100 % of supply voltage. The chassis of the model is designed to meet IP20 protection class that is only suitable for installation in controlled environments and allows a maximum ambient temperature of + 45 °C (113 °F). The true power factor is rated at 0.90 nominal at full load and the displacement power factor remains near unity at greater than 0.98. The frequency converter’s voltage imbalance tolerance is within ± 2 % of the rated supply voltage.
The control card of the 178B4544 frequency converter includes one programmable pulse input at terminal 33. It supports maximum frequency input of 67.6 kHz in push pull mode and 5 kHz for open collector mode with a minimum detectable frequency of 4 Hz. The maximum input voltage is 28 V DC with an input resistance of approximately 2 kΩ. The scan interval for input measurement is 13.3 milliseconds. At 100 Hz to 1 kHz input frequency, the maximum error is 0.5 % of full scale.
