Product Description:

The Danfoss 178B281 Frequency Converter enables accurate speed control for asynchronous motors. The output frequency of the model spans 0.2 to 132 Hz with extended mode to 1000 Hz. The response is fast and repeatable. The integrated digital and analog outputs simplify automation links.

The 178B281 frequency converter from the AKD series includes one programmable digital or pulse output located at terminal 46. The digital or frequency output voltage range is 0 to 24 V DC configured as open collector PNP. The maximum output current at this terminal is 25 mA with maximum load resistance of 1 kΩ. The frequency output is supported from 16 Hz to 10 kHz with maximum error not exceeding 0.2 percent of full scale. The resolution of the frequency output is 10 bit that ensures smooth and accurate signal levels. The maximum capacity at the frequency output is 10 nF. One programmable analog output is available in this converter that is located at terminal 42. The current range is selectable between 0/4 to 20 mA. The maximum load to common at analog output is 500 Ω with a maximum error of 1.5 percent of full scale. The analog output resolution is 10 bit. Both digital and analog outputs are galvanically isolated from the supply voltage and high voltage terminals.

The control performance of the 178B281 frequency converter includes frequency resolution of 0.013 Hz up to 1000 Hz output with precise start and stop repeatability within ± 0.5 msec. System response time measured on control terminals is not more than 26.6 msec. The speed control range in open loop mode is 1:15 relative to synchronous speed while closed loop operation supports 1:120 ratio.
