Product Description:
The 084B4084 controller is a Danfoss unit from the AK-CC55 Case Controllers series. Designed for refrigerated display cases and cold-room evaporators, it monitors temperatures, pressures, and valve positions while issuing relay or pulse commands to keep food retail systems within their set points. By combining sensor inputs with adaptive algorithms, the device automates superheat regulation and liquid supply, allowing a single module to perform functions that would otherwise require multiple discrete boards.
Six NTC or PT1000 sensors can be wired to the unit through its 6 analog inputs, allowing simultaneous feedback from suction, discharge, and defrost probes. Control logic receives door status, fan interlocks, and other binary states through 3 digital inputs, then energizes solenoids or fans through 6 digital outputs that switch either line-voltage or low-voltage loads. Parameter selection is handled locally with 5 application switches, allowing the controller to be configured for low-temperature or medium-temperature cases without a programming tool. For resistive heaters, the relay path has an 8 A resistive load rating, providing adequate capacity for typical defrost elements. The adaptive liquid control and adaptive superheat Dx functions use these hardware resources to modulate electronic expansion valves in response to changing refrigeration loads.
Inrush conditions are accommodated by a TV-5 80 A inrush rating, while continuous compressor-contactor duty is limited to 3 FLA. A separate rating of 18 LRA applies during locked-rotor events. When driving a pulse-width-controlled AKV valve, the solid-state channel supplies a maximum pulse output current of 0.5 A and supports up to 1 × 20 W at 115 V or 2 × 20 W at 230 V. The controller supports a minimum load of 1 VA, accommodating connected devices with low power requirements. All electronics attach using DIN rail mounting, and a Lon RS-485 option card of type AK-OB55 Lon is available for networked supervision.
