Product Description:

The 084B4083 is a case controller produced by Danfoss for the AK-CC55 Case Controllers series. Designed for refrigerated display cases and cold-room installations, the unit supervises temperature, defrost, and liquid injection by processing sensor signals and issuing relay commands. Within an automation network, it links to supervisory systems through its I/O and can maintain standalone regulation when network control is unavailable, helping keep product temperatures stable while conserving energy.

Six analog inputs accept temperature probes, pressure transmitters, or defrost sensors; the controller uses these values to calculate superheat and valve position. The controller has 3 digital inputs for door switches or lighting status, while the output side provides 6 digital outputs that energize fans, heaters, or solenoid valves. The dedicated valve driver supports 115 V coils at 1 × 20 W and 230 V coils at 2 × 20 W. Its relay current is limited to 0.5 A to protect the contacts. The remaining relay channels are rated for 3 FLA, support loads as low as 1 VA, and provide a continuous resistive current of 8 A, allowing the controller to operate defrost heaters without auxiliary contactors.

Adaptive Liquid Control and Adaptive Superheat Dx algorithms adjust the expansion valve opening in real time to maintain the target superheat. When proportional regulation is required, the modulating thermostat function is available, while simpler cycles can use an on-off thermostat routine. Relay group Do2–Do6 tolerates startup surges of 18 LRA, and channels 5–6 withstand inrush currents up to TV-5 80 A, helping protect their contacts when heaters or motors are energized. The housing snaps onto a DIN rail, providing secure mounting and allowing access to the controller without disturbing adjacent modules.
