Product Description:
The 084B4082 controller is produced by Danfoss within the AK-CC55 Case Controllers series. Designed for refrigerated cases, it regulates expansion valves, fan stages, and defrost cycles so the case temperature remains within specified limits while energy consumption stays low. In industrial automation, the unit acts as the local process node that gathers sensor feedback, executes temperature algorithms, and drives electromechanical loads, allowing a supervisory system to manage many cabinets over a network.
It collects data through 6 analog inputs that accept temperature, pressure, or light transmitter signals, while three digital inputs track door position or defrost feedback signals. Output action is delivered by six relay stages, and each relay can switch up to 8 A with resistive loads (3 FLA, 18 LRA), with a minimum assured load of 1 VA. A separate pulse-width channel supplies the valve coil with a maximum current of 0.5 A, allowing an electronic expansion valve to open proportionally to cooling demand. Efficiency routines such as Adaptive Liquid Control and Adaptive Superheat Dx monitor suction and liquid-line conditions in real time. These routines adjust the valve position to avoid flash-gas formation and maintain the target superheat.
Setup is simplified by 9 application-selection switches that load preset parameter groups and by Quick Setup Macros that copy common settings across identical cases. The plastic enclosure is shaped for DIN-rail mounting, allowing the controller to be placed beside circuit breakers without extra brackets. During startup, the relay contacts tolerate a TV-5 80 A inrush, allowing heater loads or fan motors to energize without welding the contacts. Additional functions include a modulating thermostat channel and an on-off thermostat. Separate AKV power stages provide 1 × 20 W at 115 VAC or 2 × 20 W at 230 VAC, allowing the controller to work with the applicable local mains supply and equipment arrangement.
