Product Description:
The 084B4081 controller is produced by Danfoss for the AK-CC55 Case Controllers series. This device governs refrigerated display cabinets by measuring case temperature, driving electronic expansion valves, and supervising defrost and fan cycles. Through these functions, it maintains the set product temperature, limits frost formation, and minimizes energy consumption in food retail refrigeration systems. It communicates with AKV stepper-valve actuators and supports networked supervision through the Danfoss ADAP-KOOL platform.
The controller provides five analog inputs for probes that capture case, suction, discharge, and defrost-termination temperatures, as well as one digital input for door or light status. Control actions are delivered through four digital outputs that energize heaters, fans, or alarms, while eight application switches allow these outputs to be assigned to specific tasks. The AKV driver can supply up to 0.5 A continuously, with valve loads of 1 × 20 W at 115 V AC or 2 × 20 W at 230 V AC. The Adaptive Liquid Control and Adaptive Superheat Dx algorithms adjust superheat automatically as operating conditions change. All connections are secured within the DIN rail housing. Quick Setup Macros reduce the time required for initial setup.
Temperature regulation modes include a modulating thermostat for proportional valve control and a simple on-off thermostat that toggles cooling when tighter accuracy is unnecessary. To drive external contactors, the DO2 through DO4 relays have a minimum load rating of 1 VA. They can switch resistive loads and motors with ratings of up to 8 A resistive, 3 FLA, and 18 LRA. During engagement, the same contacts can tolerate a TV-5 inrush current of 80 A, helping prevent nuisance trips when inductive loads are energized. These electrical capacities allow the controller to operate many case fans, drip heaters, or light circuits directly without auxiliary relays.
