The P6010 is a temperature controller produced by Danaher within the Thermal Controllers series. Designed for integration into machine panels, the unit stabilizes process temperature by comparing sensor input with a user-defined setpoint and adjusting its control outputs accordingly. Its compact footprint suits multi-loop assemblies where space is limited, allowing several controllers to be mounted side by side for coordinated thermal management. The controller can regulate temperatures in plastics forming, food processing, and laboratory equipment.
The housing has a front width and height of 48 mm, slides through a 45 × 45 mm cutout, and locks against panels up to 6.0 mm thick. Protection from dust and water jets is provided by a front gasket rated at IP66, so washdown environments do not compromise the buttons or display. Communication with supervisory PLCs is available through the RS485 bus, and the port supports baud rates up to 19.2 kbps for rapid parameter transfers. Internally, the analog-to-digital converter scans inputs at 4 samples per second, providing the PID routine with fresh data every 250 ms. The controller uses a 1/16 DIN format, which provides a standardized bezel size for installation in compact enclosures.
The device operates without derating at elevations up to 2000 m, enabling installation on mezzanines or at high-altitude sites. Up to five independent process alarms can be configured, and each trip condition may activate relays or send RS485 messages. Sensor wiring accepts conductors measuring up to 1.2 mm, and the clamping terminals are arranged to minimize lead resistance on three-wire Pt100 inputs. For platinum RTDs, measurement error is limited to ±0.1% of span ±1 LSD, while thermocouple channels provide an accuracy of 0.1% of full scale. A maximum mass of 0.21 kg reduces strain on light-gauge panels while providing enough stability for keypad adjustments. The configurable alarms allow separate responses to process deviations, sensor faults, or operating limits without requiring additional monitoring modules.
