Product Description:

The EA800-30150 is a rotary limit switch produced by Danaher within the Snaplock Limit Switches series. This cam-action device mounts on a shaft and translates angular travel into discrete electrical outputs that start, stop, or interlock machinery in automated lines. Its independent switching circuits provide multiple control points within a single enclosure. The unit is intended for packaging machines, material-handling indexing systems, and similar equipment that requires repeatable position sensing under moderate mechanical loads.

Its permissible operating temperature ranges from -20 °C to +90 °C, so cabinet heating or cooling is seldom needed under typical industrial conditions. Internally, a three normally open and three normally closed contact arrangement supports redundant signaling or mixed logic functions while maintaining isolation between circuits. Rotary resistance is governed by an overall torque rating of 33 in-lb, which indicates the force necessary to rotate the shaft against the cam springs and contact plungers. The cam stack permits a mechanical sweep of 90°, providing sufficient travel between actuation and reset points. Each cam position can be indexed in 7°30′ increments through 360° without tools, permitting fine adjustment after installation.

The cams trigger the contacts after 18° of rotation, providing a consistent actuation point as the shaft advances. The circuits reclose after the actuator returns by 14°, helping prevent contact chatter when the direction of motion reverses. For most applications, normal operation should remain near the recommended span of 30°, leaving reserve stroke for overtravel protection. All components are housed in an aluminum shell that resists corrosion while keeping the assembly lightweight. Its relatively low mass makes the switch suitable for panel-top or arm-mounted layouts where added weight and rotational inertia should be minimized.
