Product Description:
The EA800-20150 is a rotary limit switch produced by Danaher for the Snaplock Limit Switches series. Inside its aluminum case, a spring-loaded cam and latch translate shaft rotation into snap-acting contact operation so automated equipment can sense end positions, stop motion, or change machine states. Because the lever can turn clockwise or counterclockwise, one switch can supervise both travel directions on conveyors, indexing tables, or valve actuators, providing a compact feedback point in industrial automation layouts.
The unit operates reliably at ambient temperatures from -20 °C to +90 °C, allowing placement near process equipment exposed to seasonal changes or washdown conditions. Its contact stack contains 2 NO and 2 NC Form Z contacts made from silver alloy for low contact resistance and a long mechanical life. The mechanism requires 27 lb-in of torque to overcome the latch and change state, helping prevent false trips caused by vibration. After tripping, the lever can continue rotating through a total overtravel of 90° before reaching the internal stop. The contacts change state after 18° of rotation, while the recommended working stroke is 30°, so the control system receives position feedback without driving the mechanism to its hard limit.
For wiring, the housing provides a 1-inch, 11 1/2 NPT conduit entry that accepts standard rigid or flexible metallic conduit. The lever hub can be indexed in 7° 30′ increments throughout a full 360° range, allowing precise alignment of the actuation point with the machine cam. When the drive shaft reverses by 14°, the latch resets and the contacts return to their original state for the next operating cycle. The installed height above the mounting surface is 7.58 in, allowing sufficient clearance to be reserved within the surrounding equipment. The switch also has an overall profile of 8.50 inches, and its aluminum construction provides a durable housing without excessive weight.
