Internal Product Review

The EA800-10950 is a Snaplock limit switch with cam action and a 1 NO-1 NC contact arrangement. Silver alloy contacts and 20 A switching at 125 V AC give the unit strong electrical durability for repeated machine interfacing. The 3/4-14 NPT conduit opening supports clean field wiring, making the switch a dependable choice for industrial control circuits.

Product Description:

The EA800-10950 is a limit switch produced by Danaher for the Snaplock Limit Switches series and is intended to provide positive position feedback in machine tools, conveyors, and similar automated equipment. A rotating shaft and cam translate mechanical movement into a change of electrical state. This action allows a control system to confirm end-of-travel or overtravel conditions without complex sensors.

The switch can interrupt or carry up to 20 A at 125 V AC on resistive loads and has a separate rating of 5 A at 125 V DC for direct-current circuits, allowing power and control wiring to pass through a single enclosure when required. Motion is transferred through a cam-action mechanism that snaps the contacts quickly between states, minimizing arcing. The contact block is arranged as 1 NO-1 NC, providing normally open and normally closed outputs referenced to a common pole. Current flows across contacts made from silver alloy, a material that resists welding under the rated current and voltage. Internally, butt contacts provide a self-cleaning wiping action. The Form Z layout provides break-before-make behavior so that the single-pole circuit does not create a short circuit during actuation.

Field wiring enters through a 3/4-14 NPT conduit hub, and the cage terminals accept conductors up to 12 AWG. The lever drum can be indexed in discrete 7° 30′ increments to fine-tune actuation points, and the detachable head attaches to the housing with a 48-tooth serrated joint that matches the shaft’s 48 serrations. Mounting is handled by a 5/16-18 UNC-2B × 0.62 in deep threaded boss positioned 5.42 inches above the base; the overall height is 6.47 inches with the cover installed. The single-pole design simplifies integration into electrical schematics, while the shaft diameter of 0.490 to 0.495 inches accommodates standard cam wheels.
