Product Description:
The EA800-10040 is a mechanical limit switch produced by Danaher within the Snaplock Limit Switches series. Designed for industrial automation, the device serves as a position detector that opens or closes control circuits once a machine element reaches a specified angular displacement. Its sealed housing and positive snap action provide repeatable feedback from cams, levers, or shafts operating in harsh production areas.
For torque-driven inputs, the switch uses a cam-action mechanism, so the internal contacts transition sharply when the actuating lever crosses its set point. Electrical hookup is performed through a 3/4"-14 NPT conduit entry that matches common rigid metallic conduit sizes. The switching element has one normally open and one normally closed contact, providing one path for run signals and another for interlock or stop circuits. Rotation is limited to the clockwise (CW) direction, preventing reverse travel from triggering duplicate signals. A corrosion-resistant bronze housing protects the spring stack and maintains contact alignment during temperature changes and vibration. The internal block uses contact configuration A for standard wiring arrangements.
The actuating lever can be indexed in 7° 30′ increments, allowing precise cam alignment with the required stroke. The actuator can accept up to 15 lb-in of torque without damaging the shaft bearings. Motion should follow the recommended 30° of travel between the rest position and full cam engagement. Beyond that point, the mechanism withstands 90° of total travel before reaching the mechanical stop. The switch trips at 18° and resets after returning to 14°, providing a clear operating differential for the connected controller. The unit stands 5.42 inches high at the mounting surface and reaches an overall height of 6.47 inches. Its shipping weight is 12 pounds, allowing it to be installed on standard panel supports.
