The EA760-10000 limit switch is built by Danaher and belongs to the Snaplock Limit Switches series. It is a rotary, shaft-mounted sensor that sends discrete position signals to programmable controllers, supporting indexing, safety interlocks, and sequence verification in automated machinery. A cam attached to the driven shaft moves the lever until an internal snap mechanism changes the contact states at precise angles. The compact assembly installs inside panel boxes or on machine frames where electrical isolation and repeatable switching are required for industrial automation tasks.
The switch employs a cam-action mechanism, so the lever follows the cam face until an over-center spring drives the contacts through their stroke, ensuring crisp changeover without dwell. The contacts are made of silver alloy, a material chosen for low resistance and arc mitigation in control-level circuits, and they use a butt-type geometry with parallel mating faces. The enclosure carries a NEMA 1 rating that protects the interior from accidental contact and falling dirt, while the cast aluminum housing adds strength without excessive weight. Wiring enters through a 1 1/2-11.5 NPT conduit hub that is compatible with standard rigid metallic conduit. The maximum operating torque is 33 in-lb, which is suitable for medium-sized process cams.
The mechanism allows a full rotational span of 90°, with functional switching reached after 18° of rotation and reset completed by 14°. The lever should be driven through the recommended 30° of rotation to avoid overstressing the spring assembly. Lever-indexing increments of 7° 30′ allow the two internal stations to be staggered for separate actions. Each station has 3 poles, providing two isolated circuits and an auxiliary contact. The ambient operating range extends from +20 °C to +180 °C, allowing the device to function near ovens or furnaces. Its two-station arrangement permits multiple switching actions from a single rotating input.
