The EA700-80100 is a rotary limit switch manufactured by Danaher within the Snaplock Limit Switches series. Intended for industrial automation, it mounts on a machine shaft and produces consistent contact outputs whenever the lever reaches set angular positions, enabling sequence control, overtravel protection, or emergency shutdown functions on conveyors, hoists, and indexing tables. Motion can be introduced in either the clockwise or counterclockwise direction, allowing the switch to accommodate machinery with different shaft rotation patterns.
The switch has a 2NO/2NC contact arrangement built with Form Z butt elements that open and close independently. Switching force is generated by an operating torque of 27 in-lb, allowing reliable actuation with moderate drive power. The serrated cam drum provides 48 detents for accurate alignment of the cam screws during adjustment. The mechanism trips after 18° of shaft rotation, and electrical changeover is completed within a total mechanical throw of 90°. A recommended working sweep of 30° allows the contacts to change state before the lever reaches its mechanical end stop. Lever indexing can be adjusted in increments of 7° 30′, providing fine angular control for repeatable process limits. The independent contact elements support separate control paths for normal sequencing and protective functions within the connected machine circuit.
Recovery from actuation occurs after a reset movement of 14°, restoring the normally open and normally closed circuits to their resting states. The threaded entry has a 1-inch NPT thread with 11 1/2 threads per inch, allowing connection to standard conduit fittings while protecting the internal wiring route. Its long mounting style provides additional bracket reach when the switch is installed on wide frame members or positioned away from the monitored shaft. Current-carrying surfaces use silver alloy to withstand surge currents and reduce contact pitting under inductive loads. The external enclosure is cast from zinc, providing corrosion resistance and mechanical protection in typical industrial environments. Secure engagement between the hub and cam drum helps the selected angular settings remain stable when the surrounding machinery produces vibration.
