The EA700-80001 rotary limit switch is produced by Danaher as part of the Snaplock Limit Switches series. Designed for industrial automation, the unit mounts near a rotating member and actuates internal contacts when a preset angular point is reached, providing position feedback or interlock signals to control systems. Because it combines a sealed metal housing with adjustable lever travel, the device suits conveyor indexing, valve actuator endpoint detection, and similar duties where repeatable switching and a long cycle life are required. Its mechanical snap action ensures rapid contact transfer to minimize arcing.
The switch has a 2NO-2NC contact arrangement, providing two normally open and two normally closed circuits that change state simultaneously once the cam reaches its trip point. At 125 VAC, each circuit is rated for 20 A, while the same poles can handle 1.5 A at 250 VDC, making the device suitable for both power and control loads. Internal plungers strike butt-type silver-alloy tips, and the snap mechanism has an operating torque of 27 in-lb, allowing the actuator to overcome contact forces without excessive drive effort. The cam first operates at a trip travel of 18°, allowing the electrical changeover to occur early in the mechanical stroke.
Field wiring enters through a 1-11 1/2 NPT conduit tap in the zinc housing, and the contact stack conforms to Form Z, so the normally open and normally closed paths are isolated. The lever can be indexed anywhere from 7°30′ through a full rotation of 360° and is configured for counterclockwise operation. When installed with the long mounting style, the recommended cam advance for reliable reset is 30°. The total permitted rotation is 90°, with the mechanism latching again after a 14° reset. These operating angles support consistent switching during extended duty cycles.
