The EA700-50100 limit switch is produced by Danaher as part of the Snaplock Limit Switches series. It is a rotational position-sensing device that actuates internal contacts when a cam or lever reaches set angular points, allowing controllers to confirm or interrupt motion in automated machinery. Within an industrial installation, the switch mounts through a wide-body pattern and connects to conduit through the specified pipe thread, providing mechanical feedback without external signal conditioning.
This model uses butt-contact action and provides two circuits through a 2NO/2NC contact configuration, allowing separate control paths to open and close at the same angular position. Each circuit uses a silver-alloy element that carries up to 20 A at 125 VAC for motor starters or solenoid loads. The enclosure is cast from zinc, providing impact resistance while keeping its weight moderate for panel-door installations. An operating torque of 27 lb-in is required to rotate the shaft, so lightweight cams can trigger the mechanism in either the clockwise or counterclockwise direction. Connection to threaded conduit is provided by a 1-11 1/2 NPT pipe thread, creating a sealed entry for field wiring. The lever hub has 48 serrations and permits incremental adjustments of 7°30′ between detents, allowing precise trip-point positioning.
The actuating spindle measures 0.50 in in diameter and rotates through a maximum of 90° before reaching the overtravel limit. For reliable cycling, the recommended working span is 30°, with reset occurring after the lever returns by 14°. An 18° trip angle initiates contact changeover during operation. These travel limits allow the switch to signal discrete positions on conveyors, indexing tables, or valve operators where limited rotation and snap-acting contacts are preferred.
