The EA700-25102 is a rotary Snaplock limit switch manufactured by Danaher for the Snaplock Limit Switches series. It is installed on machine frames so that a cam or lever turns its shaft; once the preset rotation is reached, the internal mechanism changes the contact state to signal end-of-travel, over-travel, or indexing positions. By converting mechanical motion into an electrical change that can be read by relays or PLC inputs, the device supports reliable sequencing, safety interlocks, and position verification in automated equipment.
The switching section is configured as Form Z, meaning the contacts change state simultaneously in a break-before-make pattern. Each pole is rated to carry 20 A at 125 VAC for motor or heater loads and 5 A at 125 VDC for low-voltage control circuits, so downstream conductors and protective devices can be sized according to standard branch-circuit guidelines. Counterclockwise actuation requires an operating torque of 20.5 lb-in, while clockwise rotation requires only 16.5 lb-in. Selecting the cam profile according to these torque requirements helps prevent nuisance trips and limits stress on the shaft.
The contact set is made from silver alloy to minimize electrical resistance and resist arc erosion. The device has 2 poles that return to an all-open neutral state when the shaft is released, allowing the switch to isolate separate circuits or provide redundant feedback paths. The recommended cam engagement is 45°. Beyond this angle, the mechanism continues to a total travel of 90°, with trip points fixed at 31° in either direction. The reset angle is 12° counterclockwise and 22° clockwise. A die-cast zinc housing protects the internal mechanism, and the standard mounting arrangement uses four through-holes in the base for secure installation.
