Product Description:

The EA700-25000 Snaplock limit switch is produced by Danaher for the Snaplock Limit Switches series. It is a cam-operated position sensor that translates shaft rotation into a definite change in contact state, giving industrial controllers a clear on/off signal whenever a machine element reaches a set angle. Installed with its standard mounting style on conveyor frames, indexing tables, or hoist drums, the unit provides end-of-travel feedback so automated sequences can stop motion, reverse direction, or start the next process step without relying only on software timing.

The switch has a continuous current rating of 10 A at 125 VAC, allowing it to handle moderate inductive or resistive loads on AC lines. Its 250 VDC circuit is limited to 0.75 A for controlling low-power DC solenoids or relay coils. The internal contacts use a Form Z configuration, so both poles change state simultaneously, and their wiping surfaces are made from a silver alloy that provides low resistance and strong resistance to arcing. Counterclockwise actuation requires only 15 in-lb of operating torque, which allows the switch to work with cams in light-duty mechanisms. After tripping, the lever must return through 13° before resetting, providing a consistent dead band that helps prevent contact chatter during repetitive operation.

Clockwise movement requires 19.5 in-lb of operating torque, allowing the mechanism to distinguish intentional movement from back-driven force. The counterclockwise trip point occurs at 35°, while a recommended spindle travel of 45° helps ensure complete contact transfer before the direction reverses. Full overtravel extends to 90°, providing additional movement for mechanical tolerance variations without damaging the internal mechanism. The clockwise reset and trip spans are 9° and 11°, respectively, and all contacts remain open when the lever rests in its neutral position.
