The EA700-20100 is a rotary snap-action limit switch produced by Danaher for the Snaplock Limit Switches series. Designed for position monitoring in automated lines, the unit converts a prescribed amount of shaft rotation into paired make-and-break circuits that control motors, solenoids, or controller inputs. Its compact body fits on machine frames where mechanical travel must be sensed quickly and repeatedly. The snap mechanism ensures consistent switching at a fixed angular displacement, even under vibration or variable actuation speeds. Its sealed construction protects the internal contact block from dust and oil commonly found in industrial environments.
Electrically, the switch can carry up to 20 A at 125 V AC, while its direct-current rating is 1.5 A at 250 V DC; these limits help determine the appropriate conductor size and fuse selection for the control circuit. The contact block has a 2NO/2NC configuration, providing simultaneous normally open and normally closed outputs for redundant feedback. Internally, the contact geometry follows Form Z, meaning the break and make contacts change state at the same point in the stroke. A silver-alloy contact face minimizes resistive loss and arc erosion at the rated currents. Operation is bidirectional, accepting clockwise or counterclockwise shaft input so a single device can detect travel in either direction. A die-cast zinc body provides grounding continuity and mechanical strength without excessive weight.
The cam system provides a full mechanical travel of 90° between the end stops. Within that span, the trip point is 18°, reset occurs at 14°, and 30° is recommended for normal service life. The lever position can be indexed in 7° 30′ steps, allowing precise adjustment of the actuation point without additional tooling. The torque required to overcome the spring and cam is 27 lb-in, which keeps linkage loads moderate. Mounting uses 1/4-20 threaded holes with a depth of 0.38 in, providing a secure connection to the machine frame. The conduit entry uses a 1-inch, 11-1/2 NPT thread for connection to standard rigid metal conduit.
