Product Description:
The EA700-20001 is a rotary limit switch produced by Danaher as part of the Snaplock Limit Switches series. The unit converts angular shaft movement into discrete electrical signals used to initiate stop, start, or sequence commands in automated machinery. A sealed cam stack drives four independent snap-action contacts, allowing the switch to report both approach and departure points to a control circuit. Its design supports harsh industrial service where mechanical travel must be translated reliably into multiple isolated control channels.
Each circuit in the switch has a continuous current rating of 20 A at 125 VAC, so it can handle sizable motor or solenoid loads without external relays. The four-contact set uses a 2NO/2NC arrangement and follows Form Z contact geometry. The normally open and normally closed elements change state simultaneously while remaining electrically isolated. Contact surfaces are made from silver alloy to provide low resistance and strong resistance to arc erosion. An operating torque of 27 lb-in is required at the shaft, so the connected cam or gearbox must provide enough force to overcome the spring and actuate the contacts.
The cam drum has a CCW operating direction. Two poles per circuit provide double-pole switching, allowing the supply and return lines to be switched together through the butt-style contacts. A conduit entry with 1-11 1/2 NPT threads connects directly to standard rigid metal conduit and helps protect the zinc housing from pullout forces. Calibration can be adjusted in 7°30′ increments, allowing precise placement of the trip point. Trip travel is 18°, reset travel is 14°, and the recommended travel is 30°. The total allowable rotation before the internal stop is 90°, while standard mounting feet support secure installation on a suitable mounting surface.
