Product Description:

The EA170-52100 Switch manufactured by Danaher is seismically qualified, water-resistant and mechanically adjustable for different actuation positions and is suitable for industrial automation, safety interlocks and motion detection systems.

The EA170-52100 switch is designed to handle 125 Volts to 600 volts AC and can carry up to 20 Amps of current which make it suitable for high power operations. It is tested and meets specific EEE standards for use in industrial environments, particularly in nuclear or seismic applications such as IEEE 344-1975, IEEE 323-1974 and IEEE 382-1972. It is designed for operation outside nuclear containment areas which means it is not rated for extreme radiation or containment conditions and is intended for use in mild environments where temperature and humidity are controlled. It functions when its actuator moves in the counterclockwise (CCW) direction. This Snaplock Limit Switches series model lever arm position can be adjusted in 7.5-degree increments up to a total range of 173 degrees which allows for flexibility in installation. It should be actuated with a movement of 13 degrees which ensures proper functionality without excessive force. It comes with a latching mechanism to hold the lever in place when activated which prevents unintended resets.

The EA170-52100 switch is water resistant which means it can withstand exposure to water spray. It is featured with 8-32 SEMS screws for securing electric wires and it makes the installation easier. It also has a standard travel range but features a reverse shaft configuration, which may affect how it interacts with the machine's components. It is a critical component in industrial automation applications, and it is widely available in wake industrial store.

Frequently Asked Questions about EA170-52100:

Q: How does the positive lever latching mechanism benefit the EA170-52100 switch during operation?

A: The positive lever latching mechanism ensures the switch stays engaged after actuation, preventing unintended resets. This feature enhances safety and reliability in industrial applications.

Q: Why is the EA170-52100 switch designed with 7.5-degree incremental lever adjustments?

A: The 7.5-degree increments allow for precise customization of the switch’s actuation angle. This flexibility makes installation easier in complex industrial setups.

Q: How does the reverse shaft configuration of the EA170-52100 switch affect its functionality?

A: The reverse shaft configuration changes the direction of actuation response. This helps in applications where conventional shaft orientation would be impractical.

Q: Why is the EA170-52100 switch rated for operation outside nuclear containment areas?

A: This switch is not designed for extreme radiation or containment conditions but is suited for mild industrial environments. It complies with IEEE standards for seismic qualification.

Q: What advantage does the EA170-52100 switch’s 600V AC rating provide in industrial applications?

A: The high voltage rating allows it to be used in heavy-duty machinery with high-power requirements. This ensures durability and compatibility with demanding electrical loads.
