The EA170-41302 limit switch is produced by Danaher for the Snaplock Limit Switches series. As a rotary snap-action sensor, it mounts near mechanical stops and translates shaft movement into switching contacts that notify PLCs and safety relays when an axis reaches a set position. The switch therefore provides reliable positional feedback and trip confirmation inside automated conveying, packaging, and press equipment.
Electrically, the unit carries up to 20 A at 120 VAC, so its contacts can drive motor starters or solenoid valves without auxiliary relays. The contact block has two NO and two NC contacts arranged in a crossover pattern identified as NEMA Form Z, providing simultaneous make-and-break signals for permissive and alarm circuits. An input torque of 23 lb-in trips the internal cam, while the lever can rotate through a full adjustment span of 173° to accommodate various actuator geometries. The shaft is supplied in a reverse orientation relative to the mounting face, and actuation occurs with clockwise rotation. Initial actuation occurs after 10° of shaft movement, and reset is completed by 8° to provide a snap-action differential. An open conduit entrance simplifies wiring, and the standard mounting pattern fits common machine frames.
The phenolic housing tolerates short-term exposure up to 175 °C, allowing installation near ovens or die heaters. Fine adjustment is supported by a lever index of 7°30′, allowing the trip point to be shifted in small, repeatable increments. For most applications, the recommended overtravel is 13°, which ensures snap action without damaging the cam. Internal terminals accept up to nine conductors, accommodating separate power and signal pairs in the same enclosure. The total device weight is 3.5 lb, which keeps the load on mounting plates modest.
