The EA170-25100 limit switch is produced by Danaher as part of the Snaplock Limit Switches series. It provides a mechanically interlocked means of signaling position limits in automated equipment, translating a small angular lever movement into a repeatable change of electrical state. The device supports integration into safety interlock chains or sequence control blocks on conveyors, presses, and indexing tables. A zinc-aluminum housing protects the mechanism, and its wide mounting style provides flexibility when locating the unit on machine brackets or panels.
In this model, actuation occurs through a rocker-type lever that trips after 6°30′ of angular motion and resets after 4°. The internal switch element is a DPDT contact stack that provides separate normally open and normally closed paths, each rated for 20 A at 125 VAC under continuous duty. For reliable engagement, the operator must apply 32 lb-in of torque, after which the contacts remain latched until the lever returns. The enclosure has a classification of Types 1, 4, and 13, indicating protection against dust, water spray, and oil splash. Its short-travel geometry minimizes linkage length, while the zinc-aluminum case maintains dimensional stability in harsh industrial environments.
The switching assembly supports a full lever sweep of 36°, but Danaher recommends 7° of working motion to provide sufficient overtravel and maintain contact pressure. Lever adjustment slots are indexed in 7°30′ steps across a range of up to 167°, and the mechanism is preset for counterclockwise actuation. Electrical outputs consist of 2 NO and 2 NC circuits that change state simultaneously, allowing control systems to implement dual-channel feedback for diagnostics. The operating temperature range is -20 °C to +90 °C, keeping the unit suitable for refrigerated areas and heat-exposed enclosures. The short-travel architecture also reduces wear on connected linkages during rapid cycling.
