The EA150-30014 rotary limit switch from Danaher belongs to the Snaplock Limit Switches series. Designed for machine tools, conveyor positioning, and gate interlocks, it triggers electrical signals when a cam or lever rotates through preset angles. Danaher integrates sealed cam followers and a detent mechanism so that the switch latches positively once tripped, minimizing bounce in control circuits. As a rotary unit, it converts angular displacement into a discrete on/off output, providing a compact alternative to linear plunger or whisker styles in tight mounting spaces.
The switch has one normally open and one normally closed contact, allowing simultaneous opening and closing actions on separate control channels. These outputs use butt contacts that provide reliable operation under low-current loads. The cam surface is profiled so that the contacts make and break within only 4° of shaft movement, providing a narrow operating window for accurate repeatability. The super-sensitive detent requires minimal external effort to change state. The operating torque is only 5 in-oz at the shaft. Full shaft rotation through 360° is possible, allowing any intermediate actuation angle to be set without mechanical stops.
After initial actuation, the mechanism permits up to 180° of overtravel before the internal snap mechanism resets, helping prevent contact damage if the motion overshoots. Restoration is handled by a gravity-return linkage, so the lever reseats after the attached load is removed without relying on internal springs that could fatigue. The drive shaft accepts clockwise or counterclockwise rotation, simplifying installation on either side of a hinge or sprocket. For the field connection, the switch includes a 1/4 in × 9 in steel rod that threads into the hub. The rod can be trimmed or bent to match the required motion path. This adjustable rod allows the switch to interact with rotating or moving machine elements while maintaining the selected actuation position.
