Product Description:
The EA150-10013 is a mechanical limit switch produced by Danaher within the Snaplock Limit Switches series. The device employs a rod actuator to detect linear or rotary position and translate that movement into an electrical changeover, allowing controllers to acknowledge end-of-travel or overtravel states in automated machinery. By combining a butt contact mechanism with a double-throw circuit, the switch supplies discrete feedback that can be wired directly to interlocks, safety relays, or PLC inputs without supplemental signal conditioning.
The switching element has a 1 NO / 1 NC configuration, so one circuit closes and the other opens when the cam drives the actuator through its operating angle. A spring return resets the rod to its neutral position as soon as the actuating force is removed, ensuring repeatable operating cycles. The housing permits a full rotational sweep of 180°, while the snap-action mechanism trips at a minimum of 4° and releases by 90°, protecting the contacts from chatter during slow movement. The trip torque is 15 in-oz, limiting the force needed to operate the switch. After the actuator passes the operating point, the mechanism tolerates an additional 86° of overtravel without damage to the internal linkage.
The actuator can be driven clockwise or counterclockwise, which simplifies mounting on either side of a cam drum. Position sensing is provided by a steel rod that measures 10 in long and 0.125 in in diameter, providing adequate stiffness for lateral loads. Two clearance holes and a threaded boss with a 1/4-20 thread allow installation on brackets that are 0.656 in thick. A 0.50 in pipe tap accommodates conduit entry for sealed wiring. The stainless steel butt contacts remain enclosed, while the Snaplock housing protects the spring mechanism from contaminants.
