The EA080-22100 is a rotary snap-acting limit switch produced by Danaher for the Snaplock Limit Switches series. Designed for industrial automation, the unit converts mechanical shaft movement into discrete electrical states that can stop motion, index tooling, or confirm position. When mounted on a machine with its front shaft exposed, the switch trips as the connected cam reaches a preset angle, providing reliable feedback to PLC or relay logic without requiring continuous analog sensing.
Internally, the switch uses an SPDT circuit, so its single pole toggles between one normally open path and one normally closed path; this 1NO/1NC contact arrangement simplifies interlock wiring. The contact tips are made from a silver alloy, providing low resistance for control currents while tolerating arcing from inductive loads. The switch has a differential travel of 8°, meaning the reset angle trails the trip point by that amount to prevent chatter. The cam must move through a pre-trip zone that starts at 10° and reaches the recommended 13° while overcoming a spring preload of 14 lb-in. An epoxy-sealed enclosure with a cable blocks moisture and metal dust during industrial service.
