Product Description:

The EA080-11900 mechanical limit switch is produced by Danaher as part of the Snaplock Limit Switches series. In automated cells, it mounts along cams, slides, or guard doors to signal a control system whenever the linked lever reaches its operating point. A spring-biased snap mechanism ensures rapid contact transfer, so the device reliably indicates end-of-stroke, sequence completion, or safety interlock conditions without contact bounce.

The electrical section uses an SPDT circuit with one normally open contact and one normally closed contact, classified as Form Z. Silver alloy tips handle inductive or resistive loads while maintaining low resistance. The rated carrying capacity reaches 20 A at 125 VAC, allowing direct switching of medium-sized motors or heaters. When the same voltage is supplied as direct current, the permissible load falls to 5 A because arcing lasts longer during DC interruption. At 250 VAC, the device accommodates 15 A, whereas the rating at 250 VDC is limited to 1.5 A; these values help with fuse selection and relay isolation in mixed-voltage panels.

Mechanical action begins when the lever moves through the 10-degree trip point, and differential travel is limited to 8 degrees, keeping reset movement short for rapid cycling. The arm should travel through the recommended 13-degree angle to ensure full contact transfer, while the enclosure tolerates a total overtravel of 38 degrees. A set screw permits field adjustment of the lever through 7 degrees 30 minutes for alignment with the cam geometry. Actuation requires only 14 lb-in of torque, yet the mechanism withstands 38 lb-in at full overtravel. The terminals accommodate conductors up to 12 AWG, supporting low-impedance paths for the rated currents. This conductor capacity also permits stranded machine cable to be connected without ferrules.
