The M093-LS07C2006 is a hybrid stepping motor produced by Danaher for the Slo-Syn Stepping Motors series. As a two-phase actuator, it converts digital pulse trains from an indexer or PLC into incremental shaft rotation, providing open-loop positioning without servo feedback. The motor’s 93 mm frame and laminated rotor core are intended for indexing tables, small gantries, and metering pumps where repeatable step accuracy is required. Its pulse-driven operation allows commanded movements to be translated into discrete angular increments without a conventional closed-loop servo system.
When wired in bipolar series, the motor can deliver a holding torque of 550 oz-in; this static torque resists external loads whenever both phases are energized. That mode draws a phase current of 2.5 A through a winding inductance of 31 mH and a phase resistance of 2.4 ohms, so a drive must supply 6.1 VDC to reach the rated current. Residual detent torque is 7.0 oz-in, allowing limited position retention with power removed. For unipolar drives, the windings accept 3.5 A, present 7.9 mH of inductance and 1.2 ohms of resistance, and require 4.3 VDC. Unipolar operation reduces available holding torque to 450 oz-in. The integrated optical encoder provides a positional resolution of 200 pulses/rev, allowing the control system to monitor shaft movement during full-step or microstep operation.
The maximum axial thrust load at the shaft is 50 lb, while the overhung radial load may not exceed 25 lb at the stated distance from the motor face. These load limits help protect the shaft and bearings from excessive axial movement or radial stress. Dynamic response is influenced by a rotor inertia of 0.0265 oz-in-s², supporting rapid acceleration when the motor is paired with a stiff coupling. The encoder provides 6 differential channels for the A, B, and index signals, enabling noise-resistant connections to high-speed counters.
