As a drive stage, it modulates current and voltage to regulate brushless motor speed and torque in packaging lines, pick-and-place robots, and other automated equipment. The unit interfaces directly with mains power, motor feedback, safety circuits, and the Easybus network to deliver closed-loop motion control within a single compact enclosure. Its 3-pin power connectors and onboard status display simplify wiring and diagnostics, while integrated addressing, safety, and communication features reduce the time required for system setup.
The power section accepts 400/480 VAC and converts it to a DC link available through the 3-pin X11 male connector. From this bus, the amplifier supplies up to 14 A of continuous phase current to the load. The output stage supports a three-phase winding set, maintaining balanced motor operation. Control logic is powered by 24 VDC, and startup is possible when an auxiliary voltage of 19.2 VDC is present. Motor conductors connect through the 3-pin X12 female socket, while a separate X13 plug carries the thermal sensor signal. Two rotary switches set the node ID, and four error LEDs indicate fault states. The 24 VDC safety stop inputs remove drive energy when connected interlocks are activated.
Network communication is handled by the Easybus interface, which uses fiber-optic links arranged in a closed ring so a single cable fault does not isolate a node. The embedded processor confirms normal operation with a status LED that flashes at 2 Hz, providing a visible heartbeat indication. Fault codes and parameter numbers appear on a one-character, seven-segment display, allowing operating conditions to be diagnosed locally without a laptop. The rotary address switches provide direct node configuration from the front of the enclosure. Error LEDs offer immediate visual information when the amplifier detects an operating fault. These controls remain accessible after installation in a crowded control cabinet, reducing the need to disconnect adjacent equipment during routine inspection.
