The SAM-DA-400/480-07B-P5N-G servo amplifier is built by Danaher within the SAM Servo Amplifiers series. This module conditions three-phase mains power and regulates motor current in closed-loop motion axes used in automated machinery. In an automation cell, it acts as the interface between the machine controller and the motor, converting commanded torque references into precise phase currents for rotary or linear actuators.
The power section tolerates a mains input of 400/480 VAC and drives motors through a three-phase output bridge. Internal electronics are energized by a logic rail of 24 VDC; if that supply dips, operation remains stable down to 19.2 VDC on the logic bus. Communication with other amplifiers and the master controller occurs over the EasyBus Optical Ring, allowing high-speed, galvanically isolated data exchange without copper loops. For local status checks, the front panel carries a single-character seven-segment display that shows fault and operating codes. Thermal and electrical parameters for each axis are stored internally and reported across the bus, reducing diagnostic wiring.
