By integrating motor power, brake control, network communication, and safety interlocking in one compact module, the amplifier streamlines cabinet layouts in multi-axis production cells.
The power section is designed for a mains line of 400 V; from this source, the unit can deliver up to 14 A of continuous output to the motor phases U, V, and W routed through the X12 female motor connector. Control electronics remain active whenever a minimum auxiliary input of 19.2 VDC is present, ensuring parameter retention during brief brownouts. The DC link enters through an X11 male plug, and regenerative braking energy is returned to the bus rather than dissipated. Synchronous position data, configuration downloads, and diagnostic traffic move across a fiber-optic ring, isolating the drive from electrical noise on long cable runs. During deceleration, the amplifier commands the Brake 1 and Brake 2 lines, while four front-panel error LEDs report overcurrent, overtemperature, communication loss, or supply faults.
Local status is shown on a 7-segment display, and the internal brake circuit is wired to a block containing five dedicated pins, allowing the mechanical holding functions to be isolated quickly. Hardwired safety is implemented through the dual-channel inputs labeled STOP0 and STOP1, allowing SIL-rated controllers to remove torque without cycling the whole machine.
