Within an automation cell, the unit conditions current, monitors thermal loads, and participates in safety stop chains, allowing coordinated velocity and torque control of each axis. It interfaces with resolver feedback to close the position loop and uses internal diagnostics to protect connected hardware.
The control electronics are powered by a 24 VDC logic rail, while an auxiliary input may fall as low as 19.2 VDC without loss of function. Network traffic travels over a fiber-optic bus wired in a closed ring, so a single break does not isolate the node. The onboard CPU pulses a watchdog at 2 Hz, and the absence of that cadence triggers a fault latch.
