The Q7006-1 regenerative DC drive is manufactured by Danaher within the Quadraline Regenerative Drives series. It serves as a four-quadrant controller that enables bidirectional speed and torque control of permanent-magnet or shunt-wound motors in automated conveyor sections, test stands, and similar motion axes. By returning excess kinetic energy to the supply, the unit improves energy efficiency and reduces the need for braking hardware. Its shallow chassis mounts to a back panel, simplifying installation in crowded cabinets.
On the line side, the drive accepts a single-phase supply of 115/230 VAC ±10% and operates at a line frequency of 50/60 Hz ±2 Hz. An isolated bipolar input interface protects upstream process controllers, while selectable command channels accommodate 1–5 mA, 4–20 mA, or bipolar voltage reference signals of up to 100 VDC. Output current can be programmed in five discrete steps of 1, 1.5, 2, 3, or 5 A to match the connected motor. The armature output is 0–90 VDC with a 115 VAC input or 0–180 VDC with a 230 VAC input, allowing compatible fractional-horsepower motors to reach full speed without saturation. Acceleration and deceleration ramps are selectable between 0.3–3 seconds or 3–30 seconds, supporting adjustments for different motion cycles while limiting excessive inrush.
Field excitation is delivered at 50 or 100 VDC with a 115 VAC input and 100 or 200 VDC with a 230 VAC input, allowing stable flux on shunt-wound motors during regeneration. The control loop maintains a speed range of 50:1. Speed error remains within ±1% to ±2% with armature feedback or ±0.5% to ±1% with tachometer feedback when the corresponding feedback method is used. A symmetrical option output of 0 to ±10 VDC is available for external recorders or cascaded drives. The controller supports continuous-duty operation at its rated load within an ambient temperature range of 0–55 °C. Its single-phase input and internal power conversion simplify installation where three-phase power is unavailable.
